Actions

Amazon doesn’t want us engaging in collective action and standing up for each other. They want us to think and act as individuals. That’s why Amazon insists on 1 on 1’s with managers, the ethics hotline, the ERC and HR. We’ve had over 100 associates with the same issue and management still only offers to meet 1 on 1!

Instead of allowing Amazon to divide, control and funnel us through their systems, we take direct, collective action to win what we need. This requires planning, participation of enough coworkers, preparation for managements response, creativity and courage.

There are many types of collective action. We’ve delivered petitions at stand-up, taken over the managers office during break, delivered demand letters before shift, walked out mid-shift, confronted site-leads during All-Hands meetings, refused to work at unsafe speeds, and have gone on safety strike while picketing outside. Many of these actions aren’t recorded or reported on, but below are some examples to spark your imagination.
